Job Description

As a Project Accountant at Buro Happold, you will play a crucial role in the financial management of project teams, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic insight throughout all project phases. Your responsibilities will include: - **Project Financial Management:** - Assisting in monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes. - Supporting monthly revenue finalization and preparation of project MIS reports. - **Contract & Billing Oversight:** - Effectively communicating with Project Directors and Project Leads on contract documents, change orders, approvals, and billing-related services. - Analyzing contract terms and ensuring accurate client billing. - Preparing and issuing sales invoices in coordination with PDs/PLs. - **Resource & Timesheet Management:** - Ensuring timely submission and maintenance of timesheets in Agresso. - Conducting resource planning meetings and assisting Job Leaders with planning in Deltek. - **Audit & Compliance:** - Supporting internal and external QMS ISO audits, ensuring timely and accurate responses. - Maintaining contract folders/files on SharePoint as per standard procedures. - Ensuring adherence to project compliance requirements. - **Budgeting & Analysis:** - Reviewing project budgets, staffing plans, work schedules, and fee structures. - Applying accounting standards for revenue recognition to ensure financial integrity. - **Collaboration & Support:** - Coordinating with global Buro Happold offices for seamless financial operations, potentially requiring alternate hours 1-day/week to coordinate with New York based team. - Providing project data and insights for management meetings. - Assisting the Project Operations Manager and other team members with additional assignments as needed. **Qualifications and Skills:** - B. Com/M. Com/MBA in Finance with a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in Project Accounting. - Strong understanding of professional services and project accounting. - Proficiency in Deltek, Power BI, and SharePoint is preferred. - Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills. - Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across teams. - Sound knowledge and hands-on experience in Excel and PowerPoint. - Ability to work and perform under pressure and tight deadlines.
