Professor - MCA

Position:

Position Summary

• Provide leadership in

  curriculum design and innovation

  for the MCA program, integrating advanced and emerging technologies like

  Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Cloud Computing

  .
• Deliver specialized lectures and lead seminars in core and elective computer applications subjects.
• Mentor and guide junior faculty members (Assistant and Associate Professors) in teaching, research, and professional development.
• Establish and implement

  Outcome-Based Education (OBE)

  practices and modern assessment methods.

2. Research Excellence and Mentorship

• Establish and lead a

  recognized research group or center

  within the department, securing external grants and funding.
• Maintain a sustained, exemplary record of high-impact research, securing publications in

  top-tier SCI/Scopus/UGC-CARE indexed journals

  .

• Mandatorily supervise Ph.D. scholars

  , with a proven track record of successful Ph.D. completions (as per AICTE guidelines).
• Undertake and secure

  high-value consultancy projects

  for the institution.

3. Institutional Governance and Quality Assurance

• Assume

  senior administrative and governance roles

  such as Dean, HOD, or Chairperson of Academic Councils/Committees.
• Lead and manage efforts for

  accreditation (NBA/NAAC)

  and regulatory compliance with AICTE/UGC.
• Forge

  strategic national and international collaborations

  with institutions and the IT industry for research, student exchange, and advanced training.
• Represent the institution at high-level policy and academic forums.

Eligibility Criteria (As per AICTE Regulations for Technical Institutions/MCA)

• Ph.D. degree

  in the relevant/allied discipline(s) (e.g., Computer Applications, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Computer Engineering) is

  mandatory

  .

• Master's Degree

  (MCA/M.Tech./M.E./M.S.) and

  Bachelor's Degree

  (BCA/B.Sc. Computer Science/B.E./B.Tech.) in a relevant discipline must have a

  First Class

  or equivalent (minimum 60%) at either the Bachelor's or Master's level.

2. Experience

• Minimum of

  10 - 13 years of experience

  in teaching and/or research and/or industry at a responsible position. (as deemed fit by the Selection Committee)
• Out of these years,

  at least 5 years must be at the level of Associate Professor

  (or an equivalent senior position in Industry).

3. Research & Publications

• Research publications

  in

  SCI/UGC/AICTE

  journals &

  Research projects

  undertaken or completed or guided must be as per the criteria mentioned in the relevant UGC/AICTE regulations.
• The total research score must be as per the criteria mentioned in the relevant UGC/AICTE regulations.
• A minimum of

  2 successful Ph.D. guided

  as Supervisor/Co-supervisor is essential.

Desirable Skills and Attributes

• Proven track record of

  securing patents or technology transfer/commercialization

  .
• Recognized leadership in a specialized IT domain (e.g., Cloud Security, Big Data Architecture).
• Experience in managing large-scale academic or research projects.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and strategic planning skills.
