Job Purpose

To teach undergraduate and/or postgraduate psychology courses, conduct high-quality research, publish scholarly work, supervise students, and contribute to the academic and administrative development of the university.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Academic Duties

• Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Psychology (e.g., Clinical, Counseling, Cognitive, Developmental, Social, or Applied Psychology).
• Design course syllabi, lesson plans, assessments, and learning materials.
• Evaluate student performance through examinations, assignments, and projects.
• Supervise undergraduate projects, masters theses, and doctoral dissertations.
• Mentor students academically and professionally.
  

Research & Scholarship

• Conduct independent and collaborative research in psychology.
• Publish research findings in peer-reviewed national and international journals.
• Present research at academic conferences and seminars.
• Apply for and manage research grants and funded projects.
• Contribute to the development of research culture in the department.
  

Service & Administration

• Participate in departmental, faculty, and university committees.
• Contribute to curriculum development and academic planning.
• Support accreditation, quality assurance, and institutional reviews.
• Engage in community outreach, workshops, and professional service when required.
  

Leadership (Primarily for Professor Level)

• Provide academic leadership within the department.
• Guide junior faculty members and research scholars.
• Lead major research initiatives or academic programs.
  

Qualifications

Essential

• PhD in Psychology or a closely related field from a recognized university.
• Strong academic background with consistent scholarly performance.

Teaching experience at university level.
Experience Requirements

• Associate Professor

  :
• Typically 58 years of teaching/research experience after PhD.
• Significant research publications and student supervision experience.
  

• Professor

  :
• Typically 10+ years of teaching/research experience after PhD.
• Substantial publication record, research leadership, and doctoral supervision.
  

Skills & Competencies

• Research design, statistical analysis, and academic writing proficiency.
• Ability to mentor students and junior faculty.
