Job Description
Supervise daily production activities and ensure adherence to planned schedules.
Monitor employee attendance, workflow, and productivity on the shop floor. Ensure all workers understand their tasks and are executing them efficiently.
Allocate duties and responsibilities to production team members.
Train and mentor junior staff and machine operators. Resolve on-floor issues and maintain discipline within the team.
Ensure products are manufactured in accordance with the companys quality standards.
Coordinate with the Quality Control team for inspection and testing of in-process and finished goods. Monitor defects, report variances, and take corrective actions to minimize rework or rejection.
Collaborate with the Production Manager and Planning team to meet production deadlines.
Track work orders, raw material usage, and output against daily/weekly targets. Communicate production status and delays to concerned departments.
Oversee the proper use of machinery, tools, and equipment by operators.
Ensure preventive maintenance is scheduled and reported to the maintenance team. Identify areas for process improvement and suggest efficiency-enhancing measures.
Enforce safety protocols and ensure the use of PPE by all team members.
Conduct regular checks to maintain a clean and safe working environment. Report hazards or unsafe practices and implement corrective measures.
Monitor consumption of raw materials and components during production.
Coordinate with the Store Department for material requirements and shortages. Minimize wastage and ensure optimal utilization of resources.
Maintain production logs, shift reports, and performance records.
Submit daily production summaries to the Production Manager. Assist in data collection for audits, process evaluations, and performance reviews.
Liaise with the R&D, Quality, Maintenance, and Logistics teams for smooth operations.
Ensure timely delivery of components and communicate inter-departmental updates effectively. Support the implementation of new products, tools, or process changes.
Encourage team members to suggest improvements and implement best practices.
Identify training needs and support the development of operator skills. Promote a culture of productivity, safety, and accountability.
