Production Merchandiser

1. Product Development Coordination

• Collaborate with design, product development, and marketing teams to ensure the product designs and specifications are clear.
• Assist in fabric sourcing, trims, and other raw materials required for production.
• Communicate with vendors to obtain materials based on design needs.

2. Order Processing and Planning

• Receive and review orders from clients and ensure they are aligned with production capabilities.
• Prepare production schedules, detailing timelines and material needs for each batch.
• Coordinate the production process to ensure timely delivery.
• Manage and track production samples to ensure they meet design and quality standards.

3. Supplier and Vendor Management

• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors for raw materials, trims, and accessories.
• Negotiate prices, timelines, and payment terms with suppliers.
• Ensure that vendors deliver raw materials on time and meet quality standards.
• Oversee logistics and inventory management to prevent delays.

4. Production Monitoring and Troubleshooting

• Oversee the production process from start to finish, ensuring all stages of manufacturing are carried out efficiently.
• Ensure that the factory meets quality control standards, and address any quality issues in the production line.
• Troubleshoot any issues related to production delays, material shortages, or labor problems.

5. Quality Assurance

• Ensure that all garments meet the required specifications, including sizing, stitching, and finishing.
• Conduct inspections of both raw materials and finished goods to ensure quality standards are maintained.
• Work with quality control teams to resolve any product defects or issues that arise during production.

6. Costing and Budgeting

• Calculate production costs and develop cost estimates for materials, labor, and overheads.
• Ensure that production costs stay within the allocated budget.
• Negotiate with suppliers and manufacturers to reduce production costs without compromising quality.

7. Communication and Coordination

• Act as the main point of contact between clients, suppliers, manufacturers, and internal teams.
• Update clients regularly on the progress of their orders and address any concerns or issues.
• Coordinate shipping and delivery of finished goods to meet deadlines.

8. Compliance and Documentation

• Ensure compliance with industry standards, environmental regulations, and labor laws.
• Maintain accurate records of production timelines, materials, quality inspections, and other relevant documents.
• Ensure all legal documentation, such as contracts and invoices, is handled correctly.

9. Problem-Solving and Risk Management

• Anticipate potential risks in the production process and develop contingency plans.
• Resolve problems related to production delays, quality issues, or supply chain disruptions.
• Keep track of industry trends and competitors to anticipate market changes and adjust strategies accordingly.

10. Production and Delivery

• Ensure finished goods are packed and labeled according to client specifications.
• Monitor shipment schedules to guarantee on-time delivery to clients.
• Handle any post-delivery complaints or returns, working with quality control to address issues.
