Production Manager. Pressure vessel. Fabrication

• Production Planning & Scheduling:

  Develop and manage production schedules from order receipt to delivery, ensuring efficient workflow and timely completion of projects.

• Shop Floor Management:

  Oversee daily operations, supervise production teams (supervisors, engineers, technicians), assign tasks, and monitor progress.

• Quality Assurance:

  Implement and maintain strict quality control processes, conduct inspections, and ensure pressure vessels meet all required specifications and safety standards.

• Code & Safety Compliance:

  Ensure all production activities, from material handling to welding and assembly, adhere to relevant codes (e.g., ASME Section VIII), industry standards, and health and safety regulations.

• Process Improvement:

  Identify and implement process improvements to enhance product quality, increase efficiency, reduce downtime, and foster continuous improvement.

• Team Leadership:

  Motivate and guide the production team, ensuring high morale and efficient collaboration to meet daily and project targets.

• Issue Resolution:

  Promptly address production issues, delays, or defects to minimize disruption and maintain production flow.

• Reporting & Documentation:

  Maintain records, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide regular reports on production output and performance to management.

Required Skills & Knowledge

• Technical Expertise:

  In-depth knowledge of pressure vessel fabrication processes, welding, material preparation, and inspections.

• Code Compliance:

  Familiarity with pressure vessel codes (e.g., ASME Section VIII), fabrication standards, and non-destructive testing (NDT) procedures.

• Leadership & Management:

  Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills to effectively manage people and processes.

• Quality Control:

  Expertise in quality assurance and quality control processes for heavy fabrication.

• Software Proficiency:

  Familiarity with MS Office, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, and production planning tools.

• Communication:

  Excellent communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders, including quality control, engineering, and production staff.

Preferred candidate profile

a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, 5-10 years of fabrication and vessel manufacturing experience, deep knowledge of ASME codes, welding, and metal fabrication processes, proven leadership and project management skills, proficiency with quality systems (like ISO) and safety regulations, and strong communication and problem-solving abilities

• Education:

  A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering is highly preferred.

• Experience:

  At least 5-10 years of experience in heavy fabrication, with a specific focus on pressure vessel manufacturing, is required.

• Supervisory Experience:

  A proven track record of at least 2-5 years in a management or supervisory role is essential.

Technical Skills & Knowledge

• Pressure Vessel Manufacturing:

  Deep understanding of the entire process, including design (e.g., ASME Section VIII), materials, and welding procedures.

• Welding and Fabrication:

  Strong knowledge of welding, metal fabrication, and machining.

• Health & Safety:

  In-depth understanding of safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing environment.
