Position Overview

Production Line Supervisor

Key Responsibilities

Production Line Management

  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities on the production line.
  • Ensure production targets, timelines, and quality standards are achieved.
  • Monitor machine performance and coordinate with maintenance teams for repairs or preventive maintenance.
  • Optimize line efficiency by reducing downtime and improving workflow.

Team Leadership

  • Manage operators, helpers, and shift workers on the production line.
  • Train and guide team members on processes, SOPs, and safety protocols.
  • Allocate manpower to meet daily production plans.
  • Monitor staff performance and enforce discipline on the shop floor.

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure that products meet quality specifications and standards.
  • Identify defects, troubleshoot process deviations, and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain compliance with safety, hygiene, and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) where applicable.
  • Conduct routine inspections and quality checks.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain shift logs, production reports, and downtime records.
  • Update process documentation and ensure proper recordkeeping for audits.
  • Communicate production status, issues, and progress to supervisors or plant management.

Coordination

  • Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, Stores, Planning, and Safety teams for smooth operations.
  • Support implementation of new processes, equipment, or continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Diploma / Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in production or manufacturing operations.
  • Strong knowledge of production processes, machinery, and line operations.
  • Ability to read basic technical documents, SOPs, and process sheets.
  • Good communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with shift management and workforce supervision.

Preferred Skills (Good to Have)

  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, or Six Sigma.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Tally) for production reporting.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills for mechanical/electrical issues.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards and audit requirements.
