Production Head

Role & responsibilities

Responsibilities:

1. Production Planning & Execution

• Develop and execute daily/weekly/monthly production plans.
• Manage manpower, material availability, and machine resources effectively.
• Ensure adherence to Takt time, OEE, and output targets.

2. Assembly & Testing Oversight

• Supervise assembly of folding machines with high precision.
• Oversee wiring, fitting, alignment, and performance testing.
• Lead pilot and beta machine builds in coordination with the design team.

3. Quality & Process Control

• Ensure in-process and final quality control with the QA team.
• Drive defect prevention, root cause analysis, and corrective actions (8D, RCA).
• Conduct regular audits and process checks.

4. People & Team Development

• Lead a team of supervisors, technicians, and operators.
• Train and develop L2 leaders for better decision-making and ownership.
• Promote team engagement and discipline on the shop floor.

5. Cross-functional Coordination

• Liaise with Design for drawing clarifications and feasibility checks.
• Coordinate with Purchase and Stores for material availability.
• Work closely with Quality, Service, and Dispatch for smooth deliveries.

6. Improvement Initiatives

• Implement Lean practices, 5S, and TOC-based planning.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities through VA/VE.
• Digitize reporting and improve production dashboards.

Preferred candidate profile

• Strong technical understanding of paper folding or similar SPM machinery
• Production planning and shop floor management
• Leadership and people management
• Quality awareness and problem-solving techniques (8D, Ishikawa, etc.)
• Knowledge of ERP systems and Excel-based tracking
• Continuous improvement mindset
