Position: Production Engineer

Department: Press Shop & Sheet Metal

Location: Kadi, Gujarat

Key Responsibilities:

1. Production Planning & Execution

Plan day-to-day production activities in the press shop and sheet metal department.

Ensure production targets (daily/weekly/monthly) are achieved with high quality.

Coordinate with design, quality, and maintenance teams for smooth operations.

2. Press Shop Operations

Monitor press machines (Mechanical/Hydraulic) for sheet metal operations.

Set machine parameters and ensure die/tooling setup is correct.

Reduce downtime by ensuring quick changeover (SMED concepts preferred).

3. Sheet Metal Fabrication

Oversee cutting, bending, forming, punching, and fabrication processes.

Review drawings and ensure proper material utilization.

Optimize processes to reduce scrap and increase productivity.

4. Quality Control

Ensure all parts meet quality standards and specifications.

Implement quality checks at each stage of production.

Address defects, rework, and implement corrective actions (CAPA).

5. Manpower Handling

Manage operators, helpers, and shift labor.

Allocate work, maintain discipline, and ensure safety practices.

6. Process Improvement

Apply Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen for continuous improvement.

Identify areas for cost reduction and process optimization.

7. Reporting & Documentation

Maintain daily production reports, rejection reports, and material consumption.

Coordinate with stores for raw material availability.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Diploma / BE in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering.

14 years experience in Press Shop or Sheet Metal Manufacturing (preferred).

Knowledge of press machines, sheet metal tools & dies.

Understanding of quality tools (5 Why, Root Cause Analysis, CAPA).

Ability to read engineering drawings.

Good communication and leadership skills.
