Production Designer

Job Summary

The Interior Production Drawing Designer is responsible for developing accurate, detailed, and professional production drawings that translate interior design concepts into buildable construction documents. This role works closely with interior designers, architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure all drawings meet design intent, technical requirements, building codes, and fabrication standards.

1. Production Drawings

• Prepare detailed

  2D and 3D production drawings

  , including plans, elevations, sections, and millwork/shop drawings.
• Create

  construction documents

  , including dimensioned layouts, material specifications, and schedules.
• Develop

  joinery details

  , furniture details, ceiling plans, lighting layouts, and interior fit-out drawings.

2. Coordination & Collaboration

• Work closely with interior designers to interpret design concepts into technical drawings.
  
• Coordinate drawings with

  architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing

  teams.
• Communicate with contractors, vendors, and fabricators to ensure drawings are feasible and clear.
  

3. Quality & Compliance

• Ensure all drawings follow

  industry standards

  , building codes, and company drafting guidelines.
• Review and revise drawings based on feedback from project leads or consultants.
  
• Conduct site measurements when needed to verify design dimensions.
  

4. Documentation & Revisions

• Maintain organized drawing files, revision logs, and drawing sets.
  
• Prepare as-built drawings upon project completion.
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelors degree in

  Interior Design, Architecture, Drafting, or related field

• Proficiency in

  AutoCAD

  , SketchUp, Revit, or other drafting software.
• Strong understanding of

  construction methods, joinery details, materials, and finishes

  .
• Ability to read and coordinate

  architectural and engineering drawings
