Job Description

Role Overview: As a Product Security Engineer at Cisco, you will be a crucial part of the Device Trust Assurance team, focusing on securing firmware running on Cisco enterprise networking devices. Your role involves implementing security practices throughout the product development lifecycle and upholding the highest security standards. Key Responsibilities: - Implement and maintain SecDevOps practices in the Secure Development Lifecycle (SDL) - Develop and manage automated security testing frameworks, encompassing static analysis, dynamic analysis, and fuzz testing - Establish and operate secure CI/CD pipelines, integrating security checks and controls at each stage - Collaborate with product engineering teams to enforce security-by-design principles and ensure adherence to SDL practices - Create and sustain security metrics to evaluate and enhance SDL efficiency - Monitor and address incoming product security issues from the public bug bounty program - Mentor and educate development teams on SecDevOps best practices and tools Qualifications: - 5+ years of experience in software or firmware security, specializing in Secure Development Lifecycle implementation - Profound understanding of Linux and embedded systems security with a strong growth mindset - Proficient programming skills in languages like Python, Go, or Ruby, and familiarity with C/C++ for embedded systems - Extensive knowledge of embedded systems development concepts, including cross-platform development, build tools (GNU toolchain, OpenWrt, buildroot, Yocto), bootloaders (U-Boot, coreboot, UEFI), kernel configuration, device drivers, device trees - Experience with DevOps tools and practices (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Docker, Kubernetes) - Expertise in implementing and operating security tools such as SAST, DAST, SCA, and container security solutions - Strong documentation abilities and the capacity to present complex technical findings clearly - Demonstrated effectiveness in collaborating across global teams and multiple time zones Additional Details: At Cisco, the focus is on revolutionizing how data and infrastructure connect and protect organizations in the AI era and beyond.
