Product Performance Engineer

Your role as a member of the Retail Electric Power Application Engineering team at Caterpillar Inc. involves providing technical support to dealers and sales teams focusing on packaged generator set products. You will engage with customers to understand their needs, contribute to sales results, and collaborate with various departments to drive product development and improvement. Your responsibilities may include responding to technical inquiries, consulting on product offerings, providing technical guidance, delivering product application training, and liaising with engineering teams to ensure customer requirements are met. Additionally, you will act as a consultant regarding industry trends, maintain compliance with assignments, and visit job locations to offer guidance to potential customers. To excel in this role, you must have a degree in Electrical Engineering, a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, and be willing to travel up to 25% of the time. Your technical background should include expertise in Genset controllers, Electrical System Architecture, Synchronization and Paralleling schemes, Control and Protection in Power System, among others. Strong multidisciplinary skills, account management experience, and excellent analytical and computer skills are essential. Desirable qualifications include previous field technical or sales experience, familiarity with Caterpillar systems, knowledge of advanced Excel programming, and proficiency in business intelligence tools like MS PowerBi. Effective communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills are crucial for this position to work with diverse stakeholders and resolve differences.
