Product design (Mechanical) - Internship

As a Mechanical Engineering Intern at our company, you will play a crucial role in supporting the design and development of mechanical components and systems. Your responsibilities will include: - Supporting the design process by participating in brainstorming sessions and contributing to detailed design documentation. - Creating 3D CAD models, manufacturing drawings, and prototypes using industry-standard design tools like SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Autodesk Inventor. - Assisting in research, engineering analysis, and testing of designs, which may involve using simulation and finite element analysis software. - Preparing technical reports, documenting engineering processes, and effectively communicating findings or concepts to cross-functional teams. - Participating in quality assurance activities, validating prototype performance, and contributing to efforts aimed at improving product efficiency and manufacturability. To qualify for this role, you should meet the following qualifications and skills: - Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's program in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. - Possess a working knowledge of mechanical design principles, CAD software, and 3D modeling. - Have a basic understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and design for manufacturability (DFM) principles. - Demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork abilities. Additionally, the following attributes would be considered a plus: - Experience or coursework in product design, prototyping, and technical documentation. - Familiarity with manufacturing methods such as CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, extrusion, and casting. - Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and engineering standards.
