Job Description

Job Title: Principal – Polytechnic College

Position Summary:

The Principal serves as the academic and administrative head of the Polytechnic College, responsible for providing strategic leadership, ensuring academic excellence, maintaining discipline, and promoting institutional development. The role includes managing faculty, students, and staff to ensure the effective delivery of technical education and compliance with government and accreditation bodies.

Key Responsibilities:

Academic Leadership:

  • Oversee curriculum planning and implementation as per the norms of the affiliating/approving bodies (e.g., AICTE, State Board of Technical Education).
  • Monitor and ensure academic quality, student performance, and faculty development.
  • Promote research, innovation, and industry collaboration.
  • Facilitate accreditation and assessment processes (e.g., NBA, NAAC).

Administrative Duties:

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the college, including academic schedules, faculty assignments, examinations, and student services.
  • Supervise recruitment, training, and evaluation of teaching and non-teaching staff.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements.
  • Prepare and manage institutional budgets, resource allocation, and infrastructure development.

Strategic Development:

  • Develop and execute the institution's vision and mission aligned with national educational goals.
  • Build partnerships with industry, academia, and government bodies for better placement, internships, and skill development opportunities.
  • Promote extracurricular, co-curricular, and community development activities.

Student Welfare:

  • Maintain a healthy educational environment and ensure student discipline.
  • Address student grievances and foster a culture of inclusiveness and growth.
  • Support career guidance, training, and placement initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Educational Qualification: Master’s Degree in Engineering/Technology with a Ph.D. preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 10-15 years of teaching/research/administrative experience in a technical institution, including at least 3-5 years in a leadership role (e.g., Head of Department, Vice-Principal).
  • Should meet AICTE/State Government eligibility norms for the position of Principal.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
