As a Principal Machine Learning Engineer at SoundHound AI, you will play a crucial role in leading the research and development efforts for production-ready wake word and automatic speech recognition solutions. You will be part of the core speech technology team, where you will have the opportunity to collaborate with engineers, researchers, and voice AI practitioners to innovate and refine the architecture of vital systems. Your contributions will directly impact the development of voice AI products for customers across different industries using SoundHound's state-of-the-art ASR technologies. **Key Responsibilities:** - Lead innovation and advancements in the core architecture of Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) and wake word technologies. - Spearhead cutting-edge research in Machine Learning (ML), focusing on wake word, ASR, natural language understanding, dialogue generation, and context-aware conversational systems. - Develop novel algorithms and models to improve the performance and intelligence of wake word products and ASR solutions. - Train and optimize large-scale deep learning models for ASR and wake word products. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to transform research insights into real-world solutions. - Mentor and guide junior researchers and engineers to promote a culture of continuous learning and innovation. - Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in ASR and ML to drive continuous improvement of the technology stack. **Qualifications Required:** - Ph.D. in Computer Science with at least 8 years of relevant industry experience or Master's degree with 12 years of relevant industry experience. - Proven track record of impactful research and development in Machine Learning and ASR. - Strong skills in deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and experience in training large-scale models. - Proficiency in Python and C++ for effective implementation and optimization of ASR models. - Ability to solve complex problems and develop innovative solutions in conversational AI. - Passion for staying at the cutting edge of AI research and pushing the boundaries of what's possible in conversational AI. - Excellent teamwork and communication skills for seamless collaboration with cross-functional teams.,
