Primary Qualification

• The Principal should hold a relevant medical or paramedical graduate degree, such as MBBS/BDS/BAMS, or a B.Sc./M.Sc. in a relevant paramedical subject like M.Sc. MLT/B.Sc. MLT, B.Sc. Nursing, etc..

• Advanced Degree (Highly Desirable/Required)

  : A postgraduate degree (M.Sc. or MD/MS in the concerned subject) is expected. In many higher education norms (which are often applied to principal roles), a Ph.D. in a concerned/allied discipline is a primary requirement.

• Academic Standing

  : The candidate should have a good academic record, and for higher-level institutions, published research papers and guiding Ph.D. students is highly desirable.

Experience

• Significant Experience

  : A minimum of 10 to 15 years of experience in teaching, research, or industry is generally required.

• Leadership/Administrative Experience

  : A portion of this experience must be at a senior faculty level, such as an Associate Professor or Professor, with proven administrative and leadership skills. For instance, a minimum of 3 years at the Professor level or 5 years at the Associate Professor level is a common standard in some regulations.

• Administrative Skills

  : The role requires dealing with administrative issues, legal compliances, and managing academic programs and faculty.

Other Requirements

• Age Limit

  : For private institutions, the maximum age limit is often 65 years. For government institutions, the age limit is as per the rules laid down by the Jharkhand state government.

• Recognition

  : Qualifications must be obtained from an institution recognized by a relevant council (e.g., Jharkhand State Paramedical Council, Medical Council of India, Indian Nursing Council, UGC/AICTE).

• Management Flair

  : A flair for management and leadership is essential for the role.
