Job Description

I.

Leadership and Vision:

  • Lead IIO in positioning itself as a globally competitive reinsurance branch within the IFSC framework
  • Provide strategic leadership and vision for the IIO, aligning with the overall corporate goals.
  • Represent the branch in interactions with cedants, intermediaries, regulators, and global reinsurance networks and relevant public forums in GIFT City.
  • Collaborate with Head Office to develop and align strategic growth plans for the India business

Business Development:

  • Collaborate local and regional stakeholders to leverage on the Reinsurance Companys existing relationships and assets to prepare a strategy for growing IIO’s presence
  • Drive business through facultative and treaty placements
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and the local community.

Financial Management:

  • Oversee the IIO’s financial performance, including profit and loss management, budgeting and forecasting.
  • Ensure the IIO meets its financial targets and operates within regulatory and compliance frameworks.

Risk Management:

  • Implement robust risk management practices to safeguard the IIO’s business and reputation.
  • Monitor and manage risks related to credit, market, liquidity, operational, and strategic factors.

Compliance and Regulation:

  • Ensure the IIO complies with all extant regulations and internal policies.
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes and implement necessary adjustments to branch operations.

Operations Management:

  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders to ensure all necessary information is available for informed decision-making. Review all financial transactions, agreements, and contracts to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure all policies and standard operating procedures are up to date, drive modification/update as needed, and place for approval as per defined process.

Team Development:

  • Recruit, train, and mentor branch staff to build a high-performing team as and when required.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and ethical conduct.

Reporting:

  • Report to the head office on IIO’s performance, challenges, and strategic initiatives.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on branch metrics and achievements.

II.

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 10-12 years of experience in the reinsurance sector, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Experience dealing with IFSCA/IRDAI or other international regulators preferred
  • Proven track record of managing reinsurance operations, strategy development, and financial performance.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to navigate a dynamic and fast-paced business environment.
  • Preferred location: Gandhinagar, Gujarat
