The Role To assist the Principal Officer- Corporation in meeting objectives concerning statutory financial accounting and reporting; management and security of the Corporation’s assets; supervision of the maintenance of Corporation accounting ledgers; and improving operational efficiencies within the Indian operation. Principal Accountabilities Manage all accounting operations. Coordinate and direct the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, and report variances. Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements. Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reports. Research technical accounting issues to ensure compliance. Support the month-end and year-end closing processes. Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting. Manage and comply with IFSCA and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls. Liaise with auditors for timely completion of audits with no signification audit observation Perform additional controller duties as necessary. The Role The Principal Officer serves as the senior representative of Lloyd’s in GIFT City, responsible for ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations, safeguarding Lloyd’s trading rights, and driving strategic priorities within the region. This role combines regulatory oversight, operational management, market development, and leadership responsibilities to maintain Lloyd’s reputation and operational integrity. Principal Accountabilities Represent Lloyd's and Lloyd's underwriters in order to comply with the local laws and regulations concerning insurers underwriting business in GIFT City Monitor service company activities as required, taking action if necessary to ensure effective control and if appropriate, to ensure run-off arrangements are handled properly. Ensure that all regulatory returns, as required by IFSCA are submitted accurately and within required deadlines. Identify threats to Lloyd's trading rights and address as necessary and liaise with the International Regulatory Affairs team to mitigate such threats To implement and drive Lloyd's strategic priorities in GIFT City To ensure smooth efficient management of the day- to- day operations of the branch, including the management of payments and accounts, relating to the Corporation of Lloyd's To manage a team of local resources to deliver on the requirements of the office, develop skills and provide coaching and training, where necessary To create and demonstrate value to managing agents, service companies and brokers and assist them with developing their business in GIFT City Act as a sounding board for potential new service companies, wishing to set up on the Lloyd's GIFT City platform Review new service company application, to ensure suitable resources, systems and controls are in place, and are fit and proper to meet the IFSCA and Lloyd's requirements.
