Principal Engineer - React & Node.js

Role Overview: As a Supplier Portal Support Senior Engineer II in the Procurement Technology team at Marriott Tech Accelerator, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and implementing enterprise-level web applications using React, TypeScript, and Node.js. You will be responsible for integrating these applications with databases, content and document management systems, AI-powered NLP search engines, and AWS services. Your expertise in full-stack solutions and DevOps will be essential in transforming the procurement business at Marriott. Key Responsibilities: - Act as a technical subject matter expert for end-user facing procurement portals powered by the procurement platform. - Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using React and TypeScript that integrate with backend systems through APIs and microservices. - Develop efficient and well-structured code, database schemas, and optimize queries for performance. - Design and implement real-time and event-driven integrations. - Migrate data from existing systems into a procurement SaaS platform ensuring data accuracy. - Configure and customize the procurement SaaS platform features for end-user access. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions. - Conduct code reviews, troubleshoot technical issues, and stay updated with the latest development trends. - Improve development processes, troubleshoot and analyze problems, and participate in architectural discussions. - Maintain documentation, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to a modern engineering culture. - Prioritize tasks, provide technical leadership, review vendor proposals, and communicate effectively with stakeholders. - Support team goals, meet performance targets, and perform any other duties as required. Qualifications Required: - Strong understanding of full-stack development principles and best practices. - Experience in front-end development using React and TypeScript. - Knowledge of state management libraries like Redux, Mobx, Zustand. - Familiarity with modern front-end build tools, server-side rendering, and database design. - Experience with GraphQL, containerization technologies, cloud platforms, and OAuth-based solutions. - Proficiency in testing frameworks, Agile methodologies, AI/ML concepts, and NLP search capabilities. - Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills. - Bachelor's degree in an engineering or computer science discipline or equivalent experience/certification.
