Principal Engineer

Role Overview: You are seeking a Principal Engineer to spearhead the transformation of a data modeling desktop product into a scalable cloud-native SaaS platform in Hyderabad. This role requires a blend of profound technical proficiency, architectural leadership, and domain expertise in data modeling, databases, and platform scalability. Your primary objective will be to re-architect a monolithic, stateful desktop application into a distributed cloud solution, ensuring optimal performance, security, and data integrity. Key Responsibilities: - Orchestrating the cloud transformation of a legacy desktop-based data modeling product into a multi-tenant, cloud-native application. - Defining the contemporary architecture encompassing microservices, APIs, cloud storage strategies, and user/data management. - Spearheading the design and incorporation of collaborative, browser-based modeling features, version control, and real-time updates. - Formulating migration strategies for data-intensive features, schema management, model validation, and history tracking. - Collaborating with Product, UX, DevOps, and QA teams to ensure platform scalability, resilience, and extensibility. - Offering technical leadership across teams, mentoring engineers, and establishing data platform engineering best practices. - Advocating for CI/CD, DevSecOps, and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) in a cloud environment such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. - Ensuring compliance with enterprise security, governance, and privacy regulations. Qualifications Required: - Over 10 years of software engineering experience, with a minimum of 3 years leading cloud transformation or re-platforming initiatives. - Profound expertise in modernizing data-centric desktop applications to web/cloud platforms using technologies like .NET, Java, or C++. - Robust comprehension of data modeling concepts, ER modeling, schema design tools, and versioning mechanisms. - Proficiency in cloud-native architecture involving microservices, serverless, containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud databases. - Experience in real-time collaboration, diagramming tools, or similar interactive data tools. - Solid skills in API-first design (REST/GraphQL), scalable backend frameworks, and asynchronous processing. - A strong grasp of cloud platform services (preferably Azure), IaC tools (Terraform/CDK), CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring systems. - Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a capacity to lead through hands-on coding and system design.
