Principal Engineer (Building Management System)

REQUIREMENT:

• Define a compelling product vision and strategy for the IoT platform, aligned with organizational goals and digital transformation objectives.
• Incorporate smart building and smart city trends to ensure the platform is forward-looking.
• Collaborate with global stakeholders including business leaders, engineering, design, and external partners to shape the product roadmap.
• Establish a structured Use Case intake and prioritization process to ensure transparency and alignment with business priorities.
• Partner with business teams to co-create business cases, establish success criteria, and track ROI.
• Monitor industry trends and translate insights into product features and client-facing solutions.
• Translate product strategy into a prioritized backlog of user stories and requirements.
• Own the end-to-end product lifecycle from ideation to launch and continuous improvement.
• Manage risks, dependencies, and blockers to ensure timely delivery of business value.
• Prioritize features, enhancements, and defect fixes based on user feedback, technical feasibility, and strategic impact.
• Lead cross-functional teams to deliver platform features and milestones.
• Champion features that maximize scalability, reusability, and impact across geographies.
• Ensure features meet industry best practices in IoT and smart infrastructure integration.
• Conduct in-depth market research on facility management, IoT, and smart building technologies.
• Benchmark the IoT platform against competitors and global best practices.
• Identify opportunities for product differentiation, innovation, and new revenue streams.
• Drive adoption of IoT solutions by engaging business leads, IT, sponsors, and security teams.
• Track, analyze, and communicate product performance using KPIs and user data.
• Facilitate workshops, demonstrations, and training sessions to ensure stakeholder alignment and end-user adoption.
• Advocate for an outstanding user experience grounded in user research and feedback.
• Evaluate IoT sensor and hardware catalogues for compatibility, interoperability, and scalability.
• Assess vendor offerings and recommend technology updates or integrations.
• Oversee ecosystem partnerships with technology providers, start-ups, and solution vendors.
• Support business development by preparing proposals, responding to RFPs, and engaging in bid processes.
• Provide advisory expertise to clients on smart building/city strategies, digital twins, and sustainability.
• Represent the organization in conferences and client engagements to strengthen thought leadership.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform in-depth analyses of market trends, business needs, benchmarking, and deficiencies to provide actionable recommendations, strategies, and plans.
• Engage with customers to understand their business challenges and propose innovative solutions.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Agile projects to ensure delivery of high-quality solutions.
