Job Description

Job Posting Title:
Principal Developer, Technology and Scientific Computing
The Principal Developer will work as part of an interdisciplinary team to develop solutions and tools that enable associates working on analyses and reporting activities in clinical trials. They will work across Advance Quantitative Sciences (AQS)to gain an appreciation of the user experience today and work with Product Owners to deliver progress in high impact areas. This role will focus on enabling the use of open-source tools across the spectrum of activities in AQS.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement intuitive, user-friendly interfaces for clinical trial stakeholders using modern front-end frameworks
Collaborate with statistical engineers to integrate R-based tools into scalable web applications
Develop and maintain efficient databases to manage user activity and application artifacts
Build and deploy complex analytical web applications with robust client-server state management
Implement secure authentication and page routing for enterprise-grade applications
Create and maintain automated end-to-end testing within a CI/CD pipeline
Engage with end users to gather feedback and translate needs into technical solutions
Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities in product design and development
Ensure adherence to best practices in software development, including agile methodologies and code reviews
Contribute to solving complex technical challenges with a solution-oriented mindset

Essential Requirements

Bachelors or Masters degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics, or a related quantitative field
Minimum 8+ years of experience developing and deploying impactful software applications
Strong proficiency in HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and React for front-end development
Skilled in Python for back-end development and RESTful API design using frameworks like Flask or Django
Experience with modern testing tools and CI/CD automation (e.g., Cypress, Jest, Mocha)
Proficient in database design and management using PostgreSQL or similar systems
Familiarity with containerization tools such as Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes
Strong communication skills and a collaborative, solution-oriented mindset

Desirable Requirements

Experience using R and R Shiny for data visualization and analytical applications
Understanding of regulatory standards such as GxP and principles of computer system validation
