Job Description

Works under general direction with a high degree of autonomy. Responsible for providing leadership and direction of specific BIM technologies to assigned project teams, ensuring optimal utilization of resources and adherence to best practices. Develops technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems, leveraging cutting-edge BIM methodologies and tools. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions, considering project constraints and client requirements. Performs complex assignments involving the use of multiple application platforms and complex systems including Revit software to achieve set results and deadlines. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to integrate BIM processes into overall project workflows, enhancing efficiency and accuracy. Mentors and trains junior team members on BIM technologies and best practices, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Conducts regular quality assurance checks on BIM models to ensure compliance with industry standards and client specifications. Participates in client meetings to present BIM strategies, address technical concerns, and provide expert advice on PHE (Plumbing, Heating, and Electrical) systems integration. Stays abreast of the latest developments in BIM technologies and PHE design, incorporating innovative solutions into project workflows. Develops and maintains BIM execution plans, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines. Coordinates with external stakeholders, including contractors and suppliers, to ensure seamless integration of BIM models with construction processes. Contributes to the development of company-wide BIM standards and protocols, driving consistency and efficiency across projects. Analyzes and optimizes BIM processes to improve project delivery times and reduce costs. Prepares detailed reports on BIM implementation progress, challenges, and successes for senior management review. Qualifications Qualifications: Graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field Minimum of 10-12 years of experience in PHE (Plumbing, Heating, and Electrical) design and BIM implementation Proficient in understanding and modelling PHE & Fire services design for buildings (multi uses) Expert-level knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks Knowledge of other drafting and modelling software would be an advantage Demonstrated experience in leading BIM projects for large-scale commercial or industrial developments Strong understanding of UK building regulations and industry standards related to PHE systems Proven track record in developing and implementing BIM execution plans Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor junior staff Strong problem-solving skills and ability to develop innovative solutions for complex design challenges Proficiency in clash detection and coordination of multi-disciplinary BIM models Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams Experience in sustainable design practices and energy-efficient PHE systems Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools Professional certification such as MCIBSE (Member of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers) or equivalent is highly desirable
