Principal - Database Automation Administration

As a Principal Database Automation Engineer at Accelya, you will play a crucial role in the exciting journey of evacuating on-premises data centers and migrating application workloads to public and private cloud platforms on AWS. Your expertise will be instrumental in not only ensuring the success of the cloud migration process but also in leveraging the benefits of new platforms and technologies to enhance Accelya's agility, security, and robustness. Key Responsibilities: - Migrate multiple workloads from on-premises architectures to VMWare Cloud on AWS or directly to AWS - Automate the deployment and management of database technologies, particularly Oracle Database, using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Cloud Formation - Develop new architectures and standards, assist in developing migration approaches, and drive automation of public and private cloud database deployment and operation at Accelya Qualifications Required: - Understanding of AWS architectures, best practices, and technologies - Background in database administration and/or engineering, with a focus on Oracle Database - Practical knowledge of automation and infrastructure-as-code principles and technologies like Terraform, Cloud Formation, and Ansible - Exposure to VMWare Cloud on AWS or similar private cloud platforms, or experience with on-premises VMWare technologies - Familiarity with API-first, cloud-friendly data protection technologies such as Rubrik, Veeam, or Cohesity - Proficiency in infrastructure coding, particularly using Python - Strong desire to cultivate a collaborative team environment, encourage innovation, and share knowledge - Willingness to explore new technologies, embrace experimentation, learn from mistakes, and continuously develop both personally and professionally About Accelya: Accelya is a global technology and service provider in the air transport industry, driving innovative change at speed and scale.
