Principal Consultant

A Principal Consultant is responsible for activities such as system installation, development of customizations, interface configuration and testing, integration with third-party software, and data loading. The Model N LS solution is a transaction-based collaborative price management application implemented in Java. Technical consultants with experience working in a fast-paced environment are sought for this position. The role requires excellent verbal and written communication skills. As a Principal Consultant, you will participate in implementations of Model N systems as a senior member of the Professional Services Technical Team, involved in leading the technical team. You will design, develop and test customizations and work closely with Solution Architect/Tech Lead and Clients teams. Your responsibilities will also include creating custom applications that support and enhance the Model N LS solution using Java, Oracle, and Scripting languages. Additionally, you will assist customers with technical tasks related to implementations (hardware/software selection and sizing), deployment, and interface strategy. You will drive data loading efforts, working with customers to explain the format of data, help with mapping, analyze content, perform data loading, and report errors to customers. Providing consultation and support to Professional Services colleagues and mentoring junior team members will also be part of your role. To qualify for this position, you should have a B.Tech (Computer Science) or equivalent degree with a minimum of 8 years of work experience. Experience in object-oriented design/programming is required, along with hands-on experience in Core Java, J2EE, and at least 3 years of experience in server-side, real-time, transaction-based Java and Java/JDBC. Proficiency in Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, and development experience with web-based technologies (e.g., HTML, XML) are essential. Exposure to middle-tier programming using Servlets is desired, as well as familiarity with Eclipse IDE and version control systems. Strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently or in a team environment, and effectively meet project deliverables on time are crucial. You should also have the ability to adapt design and development approaches as business requirements dictate. Good communication, presentation, documentation skills, and email etiquette are important for this role.
