Job Summary:

The School Primary Zonal Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and managing the operations of primary schools within a designated geographical zone. This role involves ensuring that educational standards are met, implementing curricular and extracurricular activities, providing support to school staff, and fostering communication between schools, parents, and local authorities. The coordinator ensures that primary schools in the zone function smoothly and effectively while maintaining the quality of education and promoting student well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Zonal Operations Management:

    • Supervise and support the day-to-day operations of multiple primary schools within the assigned zone.
    • Ensure that schools follow educational standards, curricula, and guidelines as per regional or national policies.
    • Monitor the implementation of educational programs and support schools in meeting academic goals.
  2. School Support and Coordination:

    • Act as the liaison between school principals, teaching staff, and the regional or district education office.
    • Provide support and guidance to school administrators and teachers to ensure effective teaching and learning environments.
    • Assist in resolving operational challenges and improving the quality of education within the schools of the zone.
  3. Staff Supervision and Professional Development:

    • Support the professional growth of teachers and school staff by organizing training, workshops, and capacity-building initiatives.
    • Conduct regular visits to schools to observe teaching practices, classroom management, and overall school activities.
    • Provide constructive feedback to staff, promoting a culture of continuous improvement in teaching methods.
  4. Student Welfare and Performance Monitoring:

    • Monitor student academic performance and ensure that all schools in the zone meet performance standards.
    • Address student welfare concerns, including those related to attendance, behaviour, and emotional well-being.
    • Coordinate student support services, including counselling, special education, and after-school programs.
  5. Parent and Community Engagement:

    • Foster strong relationships with parents, guardians, and the local community to ensure the holistic development of students.
    • Organize and participate in parent-teacher meetings, school events, and community outreach programs.
    • Encourage parental involvement in school activities and promote a collaborative approach to education.
  6. Resource and Budget Management:

    • Assist schools in managing their budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
    • Ensure that schools have adequate educational materials, infrastructure, and technology to support effective teaching and learning.
    • Identify areas for resource improvement and recommend cost-effective solutions.
  7. Monitoring, Reporting, and Evaluation:

    • Collect and analyze data on school performance, including academic achievements, attendance rates, and teacher performance.
    • Prepare and present regular reports on the progress of schools in the zone, highlighting achievements, challenges, and areas for improvement.
    • Conduct regular school assessments to monitor compliance with education policies and standards.
  8. Compliance and Quality Assurance:

    • Ensure that all schools within the zone adhere to national or regional education standards and regulations.
    • Promote best practices in education, safety, and student care.
    • Conduct internal audits and inspections to ensure schools maintain quality in teaching and facilities.
  9. Crisis Management and Problem Resolution:

    • Manage and resolve conflicts or issues arising within schools, such as disputes among staff, students, or parents.
    • Implement strategies for handling emergency situations or crisis management within the zone.
    • Provide leadership during school closures, disruptions, or other unforeseen challenges.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education

    :
    • A Bachelors degree in Education, School Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree in Education Leadership is an advantage.
  • Experience

    :
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in school management, teaching, or educational coordination, preferably in a primary school setting.
  • Skills

    :
    • Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple schools and teams.
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
    • Proficiency in the use of educational technologies and administrative tools.
    • Ability to motivate and support teachers and staff in achieving educational goals.
    • Knowledge of educational regulations, curriculum development, and best practices in primary education.
