Primary Social Science Teacher (CBSE Curriculum Aligned with NEP 2020)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Primary School Social Science Teacher to foster curiosity, creativity, and citizenship among students (Grades 35). The role involves planning and delivering integrated, interdisciplinary lessons in History, Geography, Civics, and Environmental Studies, aligned with CBSE and NEP 2020 guidelines. The teacher will cultivate foundational knowledge, conceptual clarity, and life skills through engaging pedagogies and assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Teaching & Learning Facilitation

• Design and deliver experiential, age-appropriate lessons in Social Science.
• Foster inquiry-based, activity-oriented, and collaborative learning.
• Integrate arts, storytelling, and local contexts as per NEP recommendations.
• Use diverse teaching tools including ICT, maps, models, and videos.

2. Holistic Assessment

• Develop and conduct formative and summative assessments focused on competency-based learning.
• Provide continuous, constructive feedback and maintain student portfolios.
• Align evaluations with learning outcomes and holistic progress (cognitive, social, and emotional).

3. Curriculum Development

• Collaborate with peers to enrich and localize the CBSE curriculum.
• Infuse NEP-driven themes such as environmental awareness, gender sensitivity, constitutional values, and global citizenship.
• Connect Social Science content with real-life applications and other subjects.

4. Student Support & Mentorship

• Identify and support diverse learning needs including slow learners and gifted students.
• Promote self-reflection, empathy, and ethical reasoning.
• Encourage curiosity, teamwork, and student-led projects.

5. Co-Scholastic and Enrichment Activities

• Facilitate clubs, field trips, heritage walks, and experiential projects.
• Promote civic responsibility and community engagement.
• Participate in school functions, exhibitions, and inter-school events.

6. Professional Development & Collaboration

• Attend training programs on NEP 2020, FLN (Foundational Literacy and Numeracy), and pedagogical best practices.
• Contribute to school improvement plans and innovation in teaching.
• Maintain documentation, records, and reports as per school guidelines.
