Job Description

Role & responsibilities 1. Teaching & Learning Teach basic mathematical concepts such as number sense, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, time, and measurement. Use creative and engaging methods (e.g., games, storytelling, manipulatives) to make math fun and understandable. Encourage critical thinking and problem-solving skills through activities and real-life examples. 2. Lesson Planning & Curriculum Delivery Plan daily, weekly, and term-wise lessons aligned with the schools curriculum (e.g., CBSE). Prepare teaching aids, worksheets, visual materials, and digital content. Adapt teaching strategies to accommodate different learning styles and abilities. 3. Student Assessment & Evaluation Conduct regular formative and summative assessments. Maintain detailed records of students academic progress and learning outcomes. Provide feedback and remedial support to help students improve. 4. Classroom Management Create a positive, inclusive, and disciplined classroom environment. Encourage student participation and foster a love for learning. Handle behavior management in a constructive and empathetic manner. 5. Parental Engagement Communicate with parents about students' academic performance and behavioral development. Participate in parent-teacher meetings and share progress reports. 6. Collaboration & School Activities Coordinate with fellow teachers for interdisciplinary learning. Participate in staff meetings, workshops, and school events. Assist in organizing math-related competitions, quizzes, and exhibitions. 7. Use of Technology Integrate digital tools (smart boards, educational apps, math games) into teaching. Use online platforms for assignments, tests, or remote learning when necessary. 8. Student Support & Welfare Identify and support students with learning difficulties or slow grasping in math. Foster confidence and positive reinforcement to reduce math anxiety. Preferred candidate profile Educational Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics / Science / Engineering (with Mathematics as a core subject). B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education) from a recognized institution (mandatory). CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test – Paper I) qualified – preferred or required for CBSE schools. Additional certifications in child pedagogy, Vedic math, or mathematics teaching methodologies are a plus. Experience: 2–5 years of teaching experience in primary grades (Classes I–V or VI). Experience in CBSE, ICSE, or international school settings is preferred. Fresh graduates with strong math proficiency and child-centered teaching approach may also be considered. Skills & Competencies: Mathematical Proficiency: Strong understanding of foundational math concepts and child-friendly teaching techniques. Pedagogical Skills: Ability to use activity-based and inquiry-based learning methods. Technology Skills: Familiarity with smart class tools, math learning apps, and digital platforms. Assessment Capability: Skilled in designing, conducting, and evaluating math assessments tailored for primary-level students. Classroom Management: Ability to maintain a positive, disciplined, and engaging environment for young learners. Communication: Clear and effective verbal and written communication in English (and regional language if needed). Adaptability: Able to differentiate instruction to meet the varied learning needs of students. Personal Attributes: Patient, empathetic, and encouraging with a genuine love for teaching children. Creative in lesson delivery to make math enjoyable. Organized and punctual with strong time management. Collaborative and team-oriented. Desirable: Participation in math-related competitions, clubs, or enrichment programs. Willingness to take part in school functions, co-curricular activities, and professional development.
