-Role & responsibilities Role of PRT English / Mathematics A PRT English teacher is responsible for teaching English language skills to primary school students, typically from grades 1 to 5 or 6. The teacher fosters language development, literacy, and communication skills, creating a strong foundation in reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Key Responsibilities 1. Teaching & Curriculum Delivery Plan and deliver engaging English lessons aligned with the school curriculum. Teach basic grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing, and spoken English. Use age-appropriate teaching methods and resources to make learning interactive. Foster a love for reading and storytelling among young learners. 2. Student Assessment & Progress Monitoring Assess student performance regularly through tests, quizzes, and assignments. Monitor individual student progress and identify areas needing improvement. Maintain accurate records of student attendance and academic progress. Provide constructive feedback to students and parents. 3. Classroom Management Create a positive and supportive learning environment. Manage student behavior according to school policies. Encourage participation, creativity, and confidence in students. 4. Lesson Planning & Preparation Prepare detailed lesson plans and teaching materials in advance. Incorporate multimedia tools and visual aids to enhance learning. Customize teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs. 5. Collaboration & Communication Work with other teachers and staff to coordinate activities and events. Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and concerns. Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development. 6. Extracurricular Involvement Organize or support English-related extracurricular activities like debates, drama, storytelling competitions. Encourage participation in language clubs or reading programs. 7. Student Welfare Promote a safe and inclusive classroom atmosphere. Identify and support students with learning difficulties or special needs. Foster values such as respect, discipline, and teamwork. Preferred candidate profile Educational Qualifications: Bachelors degree in English / Arts / Humanities (with English as a major subject). B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education) from a recognized institution (mandatory for most CBSE/ICSE schools). CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test) / TET qualified (preferred or required by CBSE schools). Additional certifications in child psychology, phonics, or early childhood education are an advantage. Experience: 25 years of teaching experience at the primary level. Experience in CBSE preferred. Freshers with strong subject knowledge and passion for teaching may also be considered. Skills & Competencies: Language Proficiency: Excellent command over English (spoken and written). Teaching Skills: Ability to use innovative and engaging teaching methods suited for young learners. Classroom Management: Capable of maintaining discipline while being warm and approachable. Assessment & Evaluation: Skilled in designing age-appropriate assessments and tracking progress. Technology Integration: Comfortable using digital tools like smart boards, online learning platforms, and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace. Child-Centered Approach: Understanding of child development and ability to cater to diverse learning needs. Communication: Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with students, parents, and colleagues. Personal Attributes: Passionate about teaching and working with children.
