Primary Mathematics Teacher

Job Summary:

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Primary Math Teacher to teach students in Grades

1 to 5. The ideal candidate will build strong numeracy skills, foster logical thinking, and

make math fun and accessible through interactive, hands-on lessons. The teacher will follow

the curriculum guidelines (e.g., CBSE/ICSE/State Board) and create a nurturing classroom

environment that supports every childs learning journey.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching & Lesson Planning:

• Deliver engaging math lessons covering fundamental concepts such as:

• Numbers and operations
• Basic geometry
• Measurement
• Time and money
• Patterns and data handling
• Introduction to multiplication and division

• Use age-appropriate strategies including visual aids, manipulatives, games,

storytelling, and real-life examples.

• Prepare lesson plans aligned with the school curriculum and learning outcomes.

Student Assessment & Support:

• Create and administer regular assessments, worksheets, and activities to track student

progress.

• Provide feedback and support to help students master key concepts.

• Identify learning difficulties early and implement remedial teaching strategies as

needed.

Classroom Management:

• Create a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment.

• Manage student behavior in a respectful and constructive way.

• Encourage active participation, curiosity, and confidence in learning math.

Parent & Staff Collaboration:

• Communicate regularly with parents about student performance, strengths, and areas

of improvement.

• Work collaboratively with other subject teachers and the academic team.

• Participate in parent-teacher meetings, staff training, and school events.

Use of Technology & Innovation:

• Integrate educational technology (e.g., smart boards, math apps, digital games) into

lessons where appropriate.

• Encourage creative and critical thinking through problem-solving tasks and projects.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education / Mathematics / Elementary Education (required)

• B.Ed. or Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) (preferred or required

depending on the curriculum)
