Position Title: Sheet Metal Press Operator

Location: SAVARDARI, Chakan MIDC Phase-2, Pune.

Job Summary:
The Sheet Metal Press Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining press machinery used to shape, bend, and cut sheet metal according to specifications and blueprints. The operator ensures high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency while managing the workflow in a manufacturing environment. This role demands technical skill, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operating Machinery: Set up and operate press machines for manufacturing sheet metal parts, ensuring they are operating correctly and efficiently.
• Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to determine correct specifications for bending, shaping, or cutting tasks.
• Machine Setup and Adjustments: Select appropriate tooling and make precise adjustments for material thickness and bend angles to achieve tight tolerances.
• Quality Control: Conduct thorough inspections of finished products to ensure they meet specified dimensions and quality standards. Utilize measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers to verify accuracy.
• Routine Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance on machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and troubleshooting any mechanical issues that arise.
• Safety Compliance: Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe working environment. Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with team members, supervisors, and engineers to optimize production processes and resolve any operational challenges.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience: Proven one year (1 year) of experience as a press operator or similar role, particularly in a metal fabrication environment. Knowledge of CNC machine operation is a plus.
• Technical Skills: Strong understanding of machine mechanics and the properties of different sheet metals. Competency in reading and interpreting blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and precision in all tasks to ensure quality production.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy materials, and perform manual tasks consistently throughout the work shift.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Capability to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively, reducing downtime in operations.

Working Environment:

• Typically works in a manufacturing facility that is noisy and involves the use of heavy machinery. Safety protocols must be strictly adhered to, including the wearing of appropriate PPE.
