Presales Solution Engineer

Role Overview

The Presales Solutions Engineer partners with Sales to qualify opportunities and craft winning, scalable solutions on Google Cloud. The role blends hands-on GCP expertise across Data Engineering, Analytics, AI/ML/GenAI, and App Modernization with strong consulting, estimation, and proposal-building skills. You will translate complex business problems into feasible architectures, author LOEs and SOWs, and present compelling narratives to both technical and executive stakeholders. Success requires collaborating across Sales, Delivery, and Product teams in global setups, while balancing detail with big-picture outcomes.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years overall experience; 7+ years in Solution Engineering, Pre-Sales, or Solution Architecture
• Hands-on expertise with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services and ecosystem, especially for Data, Analytics, AI/ML/GenAI, and App Modernization
• Proven experience designing or supporting Data Engineering, Analytics, and/or Generative AI initiatives
• Ability to produce technical proposals, architecture diagrams, level-of-effort (LOE) estimates, and statements of work (SOW) for complex engagements
• Excellent presentation, communication, and storytelling skills for technical and business audiences
• Collaborative experience with Sales, Delivery, and Product functions in global/distributed environments
• Strong problem-solving skills to break down complex requirements into actionable solutions
• Familiarity with programming languages (Java/Python) and frontend frameworks (Angular/React.js)
• Exposure to CI/CD and DevOps concepts and tooling
• Self-starter with curiosity, adaptability, and a balance of detail orientation with strategic thinking

Responsibilities

• Lead discovery with prospects and translate business needs into GCP-based solution architectures for Data, Analytics, AI/ML/GenAI, and App Modernization
• Develop high-quality artifacts including proposals, architecture diagrams, LOE estimates, and SOWs
• Deliver persuasive demos and presentations tailored to technical and business stakeholders
• Collaborate closely with Sales, Delivery, and Product teams to shape solutions, scope engagements, and ensure smooth handoffs
• Guide customers on best practices for CI/CD, DevOps, security, scalability, and cost optimization on GCP
• Evaluate trade-offs, de-risk assumptions, and break down complex problems into actionable plans
• Contribute to multi-cloud conversations (AWS/Azure) where relevant and position GCP strengths
• Work effectively with US-based clients and distributed teams across time zones
• Stay current on GCP services and emerging trends in Data, AI/ML/GenAI, and modernization
