PPC Manager (Production Planning & Control)

Job Purpose -:

production planning, scheduling, material coordination, and delivery commitments

Key Responsibilities -:

Production Planning & Scheduling

• Develop

  master production plans

  based on customer orders, forecasts, and capacity.
• Prepare

  daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules

  for CNC machining, fabrication, assembly, and special processes.
• Balance

  capacity vs demand

  and optimize machine utilization.
• Monitor

  WIP, bottlenecks, and critical path operations

  .

Material Planning & Inventory Control

• Coordinate with

  SCM & Purchase

  for raw materials, forgings, castings, and bought-out parts.
• Ensure

  material availability

  as per production plan.
• Control

  inventory levels

  , minimize excess/obsolete stock.
• Track

  lead times

  for aerospace-grade materials and special processes.

Customer Delivery & Order Management

• Ensure

  on-time dispatch

  as per customer schedules.
• Coordinate with

  quality, production, and logistics

  to meet delivery commitments.
• Handle

  schedule changes, expediting, and priority orders

  from aerospace/defence customers.

ERP / System Management

• Manage PPC activities through

  ERP systems (SAP / Oracle / Infor / Epicor / any manufacturing ERP)

  .
• Maintain accuracy of

  BOM, routing, lead times, and work orders

  .
• Generate

  MIS reports

  on production, delivery, WIP, and capacity utilization.

Cross-Functional Coordination

• Work closely with

  Production, Quality, SCM, Engineering, and Dispatch

  teams.
• Participate in

  S&OP meetings

  and review production performance.
• Support

  NPI (New Product Introduction)

  planning and ramp-up.

Compliance & Continuous Improvement

• Ensure compliance with

  AS9100, NADCAP requirements

  related to planning and traceability.
• Drive

  lean manufacturing, reduction of cycle time, and productivity improvements

  .
• Analyze delays and implement

  corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)

  .

Key Skills & Competencies -:

• Strong knowledge of

  aerospace manufacturing processes

  (CNC machining, special processes, assembly).
• Expertise in

  production planning, capacity planning, and scheduling

  .
• Hands-on experience with

  ERP/MRP systems

  .
• Excellent

  analytical, coordination, and communication skills

  .
• Ability to handle

  multiple programs and customers

  .

Educational Qualification -:

• BE / BTech / Diploma in

  Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering

• Certification in

  APICS / CPIM

  (preferred)

Preferred candidate profile

• Experience in

  aerospace / defence / precision engineering companies

  .
• Knowledge of

  ITAR, export-controlled programs

  is an advantage.
