Job Summary:

The PPC Engineer will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating the production activities to ensure timely delivery of pharma machinery and equipment as per customer requirements. The role involves optimizing resource utilization, monitoring production progress, coordinating with various departments (Design, Purchase, Stores, Quality, and Assembly), and ensuring efficient workflow across manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Production Planning & Scheduling

  • Prepare and implement weekly/monthly production plans based on sales orders, design release, and material availability.
  • Coordinate with the design and procurement teams to ensure timely release of drawings and materials.
  • Develop production schedules that align with project timelines and delivery commitments.

2. Material Requirement Planning (MRP)

  • Analyze BOM (Bill of Materials) and raise material requisitions accordingly.
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate with the purchase and stores teams to avoid shortages or overstocking.

3. Process & Resource Optimization

  • Plan machine loading and manpower allocation for fabrication, machining, assembly, and testing sections.
  • Identify bottlenecks and take corrective actions to maintain smooth production flow.
  • Work on improving productivity and reducing idle time.

4. Monitoring & Control

  • Track daily production progress and update management with performance reports.
  • Ensure adherence to production targets, quality standards, and delivery deadlines.
  • Support in resolving production-related issues and coordinating cross-functional communication.

5. Coordination & Documentation

  • Liaise with Quality Assurance for inspection planning and documentation.
  • Maintain records of production schedules, material usage, rework, and delays.
  • Support management in capacity planning and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of production planning, scheduling, and inventory management.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes for pharma machinery (fabrication, machining, assembly, testing).
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and production planning tools.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Education:

    Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Production Engineering
  • Experience:

    3-7 years of experience in Production Planning & Control in

    pharma machinery

    capital equipment manufacturing
