Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Production Planning:

Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demands and inventory targets.

Coordinate with the procurement department to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components.

Plan and manage production resources, including manpower, equipment, and materials.

Process Control:

Monitor and control the production process to ensure adherence to production plans.

Identify and resolve any issues that may affect the production schedule, quality, or cost.

Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for production processes.

Quality Assurance:

Ensure that products meet quality standards and specifications.

Collaborate with the quality control team to address any quality issues or defects.

Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and process efficiency.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

Collect and analyze production data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.

Prepare and present regular reports on production performance, including key performance indicators (KPIs).

Use data to make informed decisions and recommendations for optimizing production processes.

Inventory Management:

Monitor inventory levels to ensure optimal stock of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.

Implement inventory control techniques to minimize waste and reduce holding costs.

Coordinate with the warehouse and logistics teams to ensure efficient storage and distribution of products.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Work closely with other departments, such as procurement, sales, and engineering, to ensure alignment of production plans with overall business objectives.

Facilitate communication and collaboration between different teams to achieve production goals.

Continuous Improvement:

Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance production efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.

Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in production planning and control.

Preferred candidate profile

Proven experience in production planning and control within a manufacturing environment.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in production planning software and ERP systems.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
