Power Systems Test Engineer

You will be part of the Market Management System (MMS) engineering team, responsible for creating software used by electricity market operators globally. Your role involves planning testing activities, designing test cases, collaborating with subject matter experts, executing tests, analyzing results, and recommending improvements. You will also be involved in maintaining testing tools, mentoring others, and ensuring compliance with regulations and guidelines. Key Responsibilities: - Plan testing activities based on business requirements, solution designs, and functional specifications. - Design and develop functional and non-functional test cases to verify business objectives and requirements. - Collaborate with engineering to collect and process data needed for testing. - Execute various tests including smoke test, integration test, performance tests, and regression tests. - Analyze test results, recommend improvements, and ensure adherence to high-quality standards. - Maintain and improve testing tools, artifacts, and documentation. - Train and mentor others on testing methodologies and software quality improvement. - Ensure compliance with external and internal regulations and guidelines. Qualifications Required: - MTech/ME Degree in Electrical/Power Systems Engineering or PhD in Electrical. - 3 to 5 years of experience in quality assurance at a software development organization. - Proficiency in C, Java, Fortran, Python, SQL, and various databases. - Familiarity with data formats (Excel, CSV, XML, JSON) and ETL tools. - Experience with testing frameworks like JUnit, TestNG, Selenium, etc. - Knowledge of operating systems such as Linux, AIX, and Windows. - Strong critical thinking skills and ability to work independently. - Excellent verbal and written English communication skills. - Experience with Power Systems Network Modeling, Power Flow, Economic Dispatch, and other related areas.
