Power Systems Test Engineer

Role Overview: You will be a part of the Market Management System (MMS) engineering team, responsible for creating software used by electricity market operators to manage and optimize transmission and distribution networks worldwide. As a member of the team, you will play a key role in ensuring high-quality deliveries to customer projects by planning testing activities and developing test cases. Key Responsibilities: - Utilize business requirements, solution designs, and functional specifications to plan testing and data creation activities. - Design and develop functional and non-functional test cases to verify business objectives and functional requirements. - Work closely with engineering to specify data collection and processing requirements for testing. - Collaborate with subject matter experts to prepare, process, and validate data for testing. - Provide data support for developer unit testing and improve test cases based on unit test results. - Implement reusable test automation, data, and function validation tools. - Execute various tests including smoke, integration, acceptance, performance, and regression tests. - Provide testing progress and status reports to the engineering team. - Identify, track, and investigate issues found during testing and collaborate with developers for resolutions. - Analyze test results and recommend improvements to maintain high-quality standards. - Maintain and improve testing tools, artifacts, documentation, and test environments. - Train and mentor others on testing methodologies to improve software quality. - Ensure compliance with external and internal regulations and guidelines. Qualifications Required: - MTech/ME Degree in Electrical/Power Systems Engineering or PhD in Electrical. - 3 to 5 years of experience in quality assurance at a software development organization. - Proficiency in C, Java, Fortran, Phyton, and other scripting languages. - Experience with SQL language and databases such as MS SQL, Oracle, Postgres. - Familiarity with data formats like Excel, CSV, XML, JSON, and ETL tools. - Knowledge of testing frameworks like JUnit, TestNG, Selenium, etc. - Understanding of operating systems like Linux, AIX, Windows. - Strong analytical skills, ability to work independently, and excellent communication skills. - Experience in Power Systems Network Modeling, Power Flow, Optimization, and Numerical Methods.,
