Role Overview

Power BI Developer

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive and visually appealing Power BI dashboards and reports.
  
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, and analysts to gather reporting requirements.
  
• Optimize Power BI data models and DAX calculations for performance and scalability.
  
• Implement row-level security (RLS), data refresh strategies, and governance standards.
  
• Work with data from multiple sources (SQL Server, Azure Synapse, Excel, APIs, etc.) and integrate into Power BI.
  
• Automate report delivery and develop self-service BI capabilities for business users.
  
• Troubleshoot and resolve Power BI performance or data integrity issues.
  
• Stay up to date with Power BI updates and best practices to enhance the BI ecosystem.
  

Required Skills and Experience

• 3–9 years

  of experience in

  Power BI development

  and

  data visualization

  .
• Strong proficiency in

  DAX

  ,

  Power Query (M language)

  , and

  data modeling (star/snowflake schemas)

  .
• Good understanding of

  SQL

  and ability to write complex queries for data extraction and transformation.
• Experience integrating Power BI with

  Azure Data Platform

  (Azure SQL DB, Synapse, Data Lake) preferred.
• Familiarity with

  ETL concepts

  and working with large datasets.
• Strong understanding of

  data governance, security, and performance tuning

  in Power BI.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical users.
