Job Description

As a Senior PostgreSQL DBA at the company, your role will involve leading database operations for high-volume, HIPAA-compliant workloads. You will be responsible for HA/DR, performance tuning, schema optimization, and ensuring compliance for mission-critical healthcare data. **Key Responsibilities:** - Lead administration, performance tuning, and HA/DR support for PostgreSQL databases. - Implement encryption, masking, and auditing mechanisms for HIPAA compliance. - Design partitioning, indexing, and archival strategies for 1020 TB datasets. - Mentor junior DBAs and collaborate with DBE (Database Engineer) for model optimization. - Collaborate with teams for database modeling and ensuring best practices. - Maintain database versioning using tools like Liquibase, Flyway. - Automate backup, monitoring, and patching processes. **Required Skills & Experience:** - 8+ years as a DBA with strong Postgres expertise. - Deep knowledge of query optimization, replication, logical decoding, and CDC. - Experience with RDS/Postgres on AWS and on-prem migration. - Healthcare/EHR database experience is a plus. **Preferred Qualifications:** - 8+ years in Postgres DBA roles (RDS, Aurora, on-prem). - Expertise in HA/DR (Patroni, pgpool, AlwaysOn, replication). - Strong skills in partitioning, indexing, CDC, performance tuning. - Familiarity with Liquibase or Flyway for schema versioning. - Prior work on 10+ TB HIPAA-compliant systems.
