Job Opening: PostgreSQL Database Administrator PostgreSQL DBA

PostgreSQL DBA

Key Responsibilities

Install, configure, upgrade, and manage
PostgreSQL database servers
Perform
performance tuning
, query optimization, and indexing
Set up and monitor
Replication (Streaming / Logical)
Handle
backup & recovery
(pg_dump, PITR, WAL archiving)
Troubleshoot database issues, logs, locks, and performance bottlenecks
Manage users, roles, permissions, and security policies
Perform routine DB maintenance (VACUUM, REINDEX, ANALYZE)
Monitor using tools like
pg_stat_statements, pgBadger
Ensure high availability, reliability, and database integrity
Work closely with application & DevOps teams for DB support

Required Skills

PostgreSQL Installation, Configuration & Upgrades
Performance Tuning & Query Optimization Backup & Recovery (pg_dump/PITR) Replication (Streaming / Logical) Linux OS & Shell Scripting basics DB maintenance (Vacuum, Reindex, Analyze) Monitoring tools (pg_stat_statements, pgBadger)

Good-to-Have Skills

Experience in Cloud DBs (AWS RDS for PostgreSQL, Azure PostgreSQL)
Knowledge of HA tools (Patroni, PgPool-II, RepMgr)
Experience with automation & scripting (Python/Shell)
Understanding of Security, RBAC, Audit Logs
