As a Postgres SQL professional with 5-10 years of experience, your role will involve various responsibilities related to database administration, performance tuning, security, troubleshooting, automation, and collaboration. **Role Overview:** You will be responsible for installing, configuring, and managing PostgreSQL databases across different environments including production, staging, and development. Your expertise in database administration will be crucial for ensuring the efficient operation of PostgreSQL databases. **Key Responsibilities:** - Implement and manage backup, WAL archiving, and PITR for data protection. - Use EXPLAIN ANALYZE, tuning, and indexing strategies for query optimization. - Configure and manage Streaming Replication, Logical Replication for HA clusters. - Manage roles, Implement SSL/TLS encryption, RBAC, auditing, and GDPR/security compliance. - Analyze logs, resolve deadlocks, replication lag, slow queries, and performance bottlenecks. - Develop automation scripts for maintenance and monitoring tasks. - Support schema normalization, partitioning, and sharding for large-scale deployments. - Apply PostgreSQL version upgrades and security patches with minimal downtime. - Manage PostgreSQL databases in on-premises/Cloud environments. - Collaborate with developers, DevOps, and system administrators to optimize database performance and reliability. **Qualifications Required:** - 5-10 years of experience in PostgreSQL database administration. - Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL versions 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, and all other versions. - Proficiency in performance tuning, security implementation, troubleshooting, and automation. - Experience in database design, capacity planning, and patch management. - Familiarity with Cloud and hybrid database management.
