As a PostgreSQL Database Administrator (DBA) with 15+ years of experience based in Bangalore, your primary responsibility will be to install, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL database systems. You will play a crucial role in monitoring the performance of the databases to optimize efficiency and reliability. It will be your duty to implement and manage database backup and recovery processes while ensuring compliance with organizational policies regarding security. Collaboration with developers to design and optimize database schemas will be essential. You must be prepared to troubleshoot and resolve any database-related issues promptly. Regular maintenance tasks such as updates, patches, and disaster recovery plan development will also fall under your purview. Monitoring and managing database storage, as well as providing best practice guidance to development teams, will be crucial aspects of your role. Your mandate skills include the ability to write query plans, create indexes, and execute SQL commands efficiently. Proven experience as a PostgreSQL Database Administrator is a must, along with a strong understanding of database design, performance tuning, and optimization.
