Neeti Shodh is a youth-led, research-driven initiative committed to advancing legal and policy literacy, critical governance thinking, and evidence-based research. Position Overview

As a Policy Brief Writer, you will be responsible for producing concise, insightful, and impactful policy briefs on contemporary issues at the intersection of law, governance, economy, and development. This role is ideal for candidates who are comfortable with academic research, policy analysis, and translating complex issues into actionable recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft policy briefs (800–1200 words) on assigned or approved topics
• Conduct independent research on current legal and policy developments
• Identify gaps, inconsistencies, or challenges in implementation of major schemes or legislations
• Offer clear, actionable recommendations backed by credible sources
• Ensure clarity, structure, and accessibility of writing
• Collaborate with editors and the Knowledge Outreach team for refinement and feedback
• Contribute to Neeti Shodh’s Policy Brief Series and LinkedIn publications

Eligibility Criteria

• Students or graduates in Law, Public Policy, Economics, Political Science, Development Studies, or allied fields
• Strong command of English writing and academic formatting
• Demonstrated interest in socio-legal and governance issues
• Prior writing experience (blogs, articles, publications) preferred
• Ability to meet weekly deadlines and respond to editorial inputs
