Plumbing Engineer - PHE

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Site Plumbing Engineer (PHE) to oversee the execution and installation of plumbing, water supply, drainage, and fire protection systems for high-rise building construction projects. This is a field-based role requiring daily presence at construction sites to ensure plumbing work is executed according to design specifications, safety standards, and project timelines. The successful candidate will be responsible for on-site supervision, quality control, and coordination of plumbing contractors during the construction phase.

Key Responsibilities

On-Site Execution and Supervision

• Oversee daily plumbing installation activities across multiple floors of high-rise construction projects including water supply, drainage, and fire protection systems
• Supervise plumbing contractors and subcontractors to ensure work quality meets project specifications and industry standards
• Conduct regular inspections of rough-in plumbing, pipe installations, fixture mounting, and system connections
• Coordinate plumbing work with other trades including electrical, HVAC, and structural teams to avoid conflicts and ensure proper routing
• Ensure proper installation sequencing and adherence to construction schedules for complex multi-story plumbing systems

Quality Control and Testing

• Perform field inspections and testing of plumbing installations including water pressure tests, drainage flow tests, and system leak detection
• Verify proper installation of plumbing fixtures, pipe runs, pumps, water heaters, and pressure boosting systems
• Conduct hydrostatic testing, air testing, and flow testing of plumbing systems before handover to commissioning teams
• Monitor installation of fire sprinkler systems, standpipe systems, and fire pumps according to NFPA standards
• Identify and resolve installation defects, non-conformances, and quality issues in real-time
• Maintain detailed inspection reports and quality control documentation

Safety Management and Compliance

• Enforce plumbing safety protocols and procedures on construction sites, particularly for high-rise work environments
• Conduct safety briefings for plumbing crews and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards
• Monitor and approve plumbing work in confined spaces, elevated areas, and around heavy machinery
• Coordinate with safety officers to investigate and resolve plumbing-related safety incidents
• Ensure proper handling and installation of hazardous materials and chemicals used in plumbing systems

Technical Problem-Solving

• Resolve field installation challenges and provide technical solutions for unexpected site conditions
• Coordinate with design engineers to address field changes, design modifications, and value engineering opportunities
• Review shop drawings and submittal documents from plumbing contractors for compliance with project specifications
• Troubleshoot plumbing system issues during installation and pre-commissioning phases
• Interface with local water utilities and municipal authorities for service connections and inspections
• Manage water pressure zones and booster pump installations for high-rise water distribution systems

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing Engineering, or related field

Experience Requirements

• 5-10 years of progressive experience in plumbing engineering with specific focus on construction execution for high-rise buildings or large-scale construction projects
