Join our MEP Tunnels and Underground Structures team in Gurgaon

We are Tunnels and Underground Structures (TUS) department, under COWI's Business Line International, consisting of more than 180 people based in India. We have our clients and projects spread across Scandinavia, Singapore, North America, UK and Iceland locations. We are proficient in creating detailed designs for underground metro stations, tunnels, and shafts. We value cultural diversity and highly appreciate our social and friendly environment. COWI's TUS team is rapidly growing and that is why we are looking for an Engineer Specialist-PHE & FF.

Your key responsibilities will be:

• A high level of technical skill in Public Health Services and Fire Protection Systems design is essential.
• Develop the conceptual design and production engineering designs and details in accordance with project requirements within your field.
• Calculation of Hot & Cold Water, flow calculation, calculations, distribution systems (sizing, valves, pumps etc.), water heating systems, water storage systems, Drainage system and stormwater systems.
• Design and Calculation of Fire Water in the Building/Underground Metro/ Underground tunnel: Automatic sprinkler systems design, Fire hoses, Wet & Dry Risers, Foam system and Gas extinguishing system.
• Develop and implement design best practices in areas of expertise, in addition, ensures conformance with all applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
• Be Preparing /checking calculations, drawings and writing reports
• Assisting with tenders and bids
• Be managing project with multi-disciplinary teams
• Inspecting and documenting plumbing & fire systems
• Support HOS in planning, resource allocation, scheduling, and budgeting for assigned project(s)
• Building relationships with clients and other stakeholders.

Moreover, you will have:

• Hold a Bachelors/master's in mechanical engineering and have 6 to 10 years of experience in MEP services preferably for underground structures, metros and tunnels
• Have in-depth knowledge of appropriate plumbing & fire systems. Experience in HVAC would be an added advantage.
• Have experience working on international projects
• Have hands on experience on software to carryout system calculations. Experience on hydraulic calculations and process design for treatment plants will be preferred.
• Have hands on experience on BIM and Navisworks, particularly to place the major equipment and main route for the pipes to carry out the spatial planning.
• Be self-motivated with good interpersonal skills.
