Position Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented PLC Programmer to join our engineering team. The
ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, programming, testing, and maintaining PLC
systems used in processing and packaging machines used in the pharmaceutical industry. This
role demands a strong understanding of automation technologies, industry regulations, and
compliance.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and modify PLC programs using languages such as ladder logic &
sequential function charts (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider etc.) to control processing
and manufacturing equipment.
Configure & integrate PLC hardware, including I/O modules, communication modules &
HMIs
Testing programs using automation equipment and commission systems at customer
sites.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve faults in PLC-controlled systems to ensure minimal
downtime and optimal system performance in real time.
Provide on-site and remote support for automation systems.
Work with mechanical, electrical & other department to design & implement
automation system
Develop detailed documentation: Functional Design Specs (FDS), Software Design Specs
(SDS), Test Protocols (FAT, SAT, IQ/OQ/PQ).
Collaborate with validation and QA teams to meet pharma industry regulations.
Coordinate with Process Engineers, QA/Validation teams, and IT to ensure full system
integration.
Suggest and implement process automation improvements for efficiency, quality, and
safety.
Stay updated with the latest automation and pharma compliance trends.
Experience
2 plus years of experience in Equipment and machinery manufacturing
Some experience in CAD Design – 2D Autodesk - to edit and revise electrical drawings
Candidates with background in relevant Industrial/production/ Medical device
manufacturing experience will be given preference.

Technical and Domain Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation,
Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or related fields.
Master’s degree or specialization in Industrial Automation or Control Systems
(advantageous).
Certification:-Siemens / Allen-Bradley / Schneider Electric PLC Programming
Certification(preferred)
- Knowledge of GAMP5 and FDA 21 CFR Part 11 (highly valuable for pharma sector)
- cGMP, GDP, or validation training (pharma-specific)
Familiarity with MES integration
Communication Protocols: Profibus, Profinet, Modbus, OPC, Ethernet/IP.
Analytical thinking and problem-solving
Documentation and communication skills
Team collaboration and project coordination
Strong understanding of control system architectures, instrumentation, and industrial
communication protocols
