Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented

Software Development Engineer in Test

(SDET) with strong experience in Playwright for end-to-end UI automation. You will play a key role in ensuring the quality and performance of our web applications through robust test automation frameworks, integration into CI/CD pipelines, and collaboration with development teams.

Key Responsibilities

:
  • Design and implement scalable, maintainable, and reusable end-to-end test automation frameworks using Playwright (TypeScript/JavaScript or Python).
  • Develop robust test suites to cover functional, regression, smoke, and UI tests for web applications using Playwright s advanced capabilities (eg, network mocking, tracing, visual comparisons, parallel execution).
  • Utilize Playwright s test runners, selectors engine, and auto-waiting mechanisms to create reliable and performant test scripts.
  • Automate scenarios across different browsers (Chromium, Firefox, WebKit) and device viewports to ensure cross-browser and responsive testing.
  • Leverage Playwright s debugging tools like codegen, trace viewer, and video recordings to troubleshoot flaky tests or failed executions.
  • Integrate Playwright tests into CI/CD pipelines (eg, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins) for continuous feedback and faster releases.
  • Collaborate with developers and product teams to create testable features, identify edge cases, and ensure quality from day one.
  • Maintain and version control test automation repositories with Git, ensuring code quality and reviews for test code as we'll.
  • Monitor automation runs, generate reports, and analyze test results to continuously improve coverage and effectiveness.

Required Skills

:
  • bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience with Playwright for end-to-end test automation.
  • Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript (or Python) and writing modular, maintainable test scripts.
  • Strong understanding of Playwright features such as Network mocking request interception, Cross-browser testing, Auto-waiting and smart selectors and Tracing, screenshots, and debugging tools.
  • Experience integrating Playwright tests into CI/CD pipelines (eg, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
  • Solid knowledge of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, REST APIs).
  • Familiarity with version control (Git) and test management tools (Jira, TestRail).
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with other automation tools like Cypress, Selenium, Puppeteer, or TestCafe.
  • Knowledge of API testing tools such as Postman, REST Assured, or Playwright API automation.
  • Familiarity with performance testing (eg, JMeter, k6).
  • Experience working with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) for test execution and environment management.
  • Working knowledge of BDD frameworks (eg, Cucumber) and test data management.
  • ISTQB or other QA/testing certifications.
