Job Description

Xoriant is hiring Playwright Automation Engineer

Experience - 6+ years

Key Responsibilities:

Design and implement
Playwright automation scripts
to simulate complex real-world user flows.
Develop a system to
invoke Playwright sessions from browser extension
triggers (e.g., message passing, native bridge, or socket listener).
Build scalable automation suites to validate
end-to-end flows
, including modal interactions, async loaders, form submissions, and backend sync.
Collaborate with frontend/browser extension developers to understand how UI triggers automation logic.
Work with product teams to map business requirements to automated workflows.
Ensure automation is
resilient to UI changes
, with smart wait strategies and LLM-guided recovery
Create tooling to capture
DOM snapshots, video recordings, traces
, and inject automation from external calls.
Debug flaky automation and improve test reliability and observability.
Optionally contribute to
performance testing scenarios
, around automated flow benchmarking or UI load events.

Must-Have Skills:

Experience in test automation, with
hands-on Playwright expertise.
Experience in
API Testing
and good knowledge
on functional testing Concepts
Solid understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript or Python-based automation
Experience with
Playwrights connect API
or
CDP remote debugging
Knowledge of
web socket or native bridge communication
between browser extension and backend/playwright
Familiarity with
CI tools
(GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI)
Exposure to
LLM-driven QA, AI-assisted automation, or smart agents
REST API testing using tools like Postman or REST Assured
Knowledge of
browser automation injection patterns
(e.g., connect to open tabs, invoke actions from extension)
Experience with
browser extensions (Chrome/Edge/Firefox)
— message listeners, background scripts, content scripts
Proficiency in debugging automation failures using video, trace, and logs
