Job Description

Experience:

Location: Hyderabad

Planning Engineer with substantial experience in planning and scheduling activities for large-scale industrial projects in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, or Fertilizer sectors. Responsible for the preparation, control, and monitoring of project schedules, performance analysis, and reporting, with hands-on experience in handling piping and structural disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain detailed Level 3/4 construction & commissioning schedules.
  • Track daily, weekly, and monthly site progress.
  • Measure physical progress using EVMS or planned vs. actual methods.
  • Analyse schedule deviations and forecast slippages with mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate with construction, engineering, procurement & commissioning teams.
  • Interface with subcontractors for schedule updates and work-front alignment.
  • Lead and participate in daily/weekly planning and coordination meetings.
  • Maintain baseline schedules and monitor impacts or changes.
  • Track scope changes and support TIA / EOT claim preparation.
  • Maintain S-curves, histograms, manpower/equipment/material KPIs.
  • Prepare accurate progress reports for management review.
  • Create maintain & monitor Project Plans, Daily Progress Reports (DPR), and Daily Manpower Reports (DMR).
  • Generate and analyse Profit & Loss (P&L) statements at the project level.
  • Prepare S-curves, histograms, earned value (EVM), and other analytical tools to assess project health.
  • Coordinate across engineering, procurement, and execution teams to ensure milestone adherence.
  • Perform Time Impact Analysis (TIA) for delays and claim support.
  • Attend progress review meetings with clients and stakeholders; present planning updates and forecasts.
  • Ensure integration of schedule with resource and cost plans for accurate control.
  • Track Team/Discipline performance and compliance with planned schedules.

Must-Have Skills:

  • BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 10+ years in planning for Oil & Gas EPC/PMC projects (site-based preferred)
  • Expertise in Primavera P6, MS Project & MS Excel
  • Strong grasp of construction workflows, CPM, resource loading, and project lifecycles
  • Experience working in refineries, terminals, offshore, or pipeline environments
  • Excellent analytical, coordination, and communication abilities
