Physical Design Engineer, Senior

As a Hardware Engineer at Qualcomm India Private Limited, your role will involve the following responsibilities: - Setting up, converging, reviewing, and signing off for multi-mode, multi-voltage domain designs using STA (Static Timing Analysis) techniques. - Performing timing analysis, validation, and debugging across multiple Process-Voltage-Temperature (PVT) conditions using tools like PrimeTime and Tempus. - Running Primetime and/or Tempus for STA flow optimization and correlating Spice simulations with STA. - Evaluating multiple timing methodologies and tools on different designs and technology nodes. - Working on automation scripts within STA/PD tools for methodology development. - Demonstrating good technical writing and communication skills and collaborating effectively in a cross-functional environment. - Utilizing design automation using scripting languages like TCL, Perl, and Python. - Being familiar with digital flow design implementation from RTL to GDS using tools like ICC, Innovous, and PT/Tempus. - Understanding process technology enablement through circuit simulations using tools like Hspice, FineSim, and Monte Carlo. Qualifications required for this role include a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronics/Microelectronics/VLSI engineering, along with 2+ years of relevant hardware engineering experience for Bachelor's degree holders and 1+ year of experience for Master's degree holders. Alternatively, a PhD in a related field is also accepted. Preferred qualifications and skills for this role include: - 3+ years of experience - Strong expertise in STA timing analysis basics, AOCV/POCV concepts, CTS, defining and managing timing constraints, Latch transparency handling, and multi-cycle path handling. - Hands-on experience with STA tools like PrimeTime and Tempus. - Experience in driving timing convergence at Chip-level and Hard-Macro level. - In-depth knowledge of cross-talk noise, Signal Integrity, Layout Parasitic Extraction, and feed-through handling. - Familiarity with ASIC back-end design flows and tools like ICC2 and Innovus. - Proficiency in scripting languages like TCL, Perl, and Awk.
